On April 10, Blessed Maria Pallotta Catholic Middle School’s hallways were filled with the sounds of “Happy,” the popular pop song hitting the charts. And not only did it get your toes tapping, but the tunes were the initiators of the passing time between the Seven Habit of High Effective People stations for the first annual “Leader in Me Open House Leadership Day” at the middle school.
Students lead discussions and activities in each classroom– teaching all those who entered about one of the seven habits. The sessions were 10 minutes long, consisting of explaining the habit, how the habit has personally impacted each student, and an activity for all participants. Students then lead their groups to another room, until all groups had made it through each of the seven habits stations. The evening concluded with student testimonies, thank you’s, and of course some sweets for the road.
