The Thing You Like Most About Teaching: Building relationships with students

The Thing You Find Most Challenging About Teaching: 12 year olds have a LOT of energy!

Best Tip for New Teachers: Be yourself! Just because you’re “the teacher” doesn’t mean you can’t make mistakes, be silly, or laugh at something funny. ┬áStudents love to see and respect the “human” side of teachers.

Best Tip for Career Teachers: You’d be surprised at the number of staff members that would love to help you! If you have a crazy idea and don’t think you can pull it off on your own, ask for some help! If you never ask, you’ll never know what was possible.

Favorite Piece of Advice for Students: Having fun is a way more fun that not! Being bored is boring!

What Being a Gold Star Teacher Means to You: It’s flattering to be recognized for things as simple as caring, laughing, and enjoying what you do.
