Grade Level and Subject: 4th Grade Teacher
Hobbies/Interests: I like to spend my time sitting on the beach (the real ocean, not a lake!)
Family Members: Mom: Andrea; Siblings: 7 sisters and 2 brothers–my place is somewhere near the bottom.
The Thing You Like Most About Teaching: I absolutely love seeing growth in my students. I love seeing the wonderment when they’re learning something new. Fourth graders are so eager to learn anything you have to give. It’s truly an honor to be with them during this time in their lives.
The Thing You Find Most Challenging About Teaching: I find it very difficult to meet the needs of every student, from those who need extra support all the way to those who are thinking way beyond their years. Every student deserves to be challenged and have their needs met. I wish I cold meet every need of every student, but that’s not always possible.
Best Tip for New Teachers: Don’t be afraid to reach out–collaborate, collaborate, collaborate!!
Advice For Students: Problem solve! Try it yourself first; you’re capable of great and amazing things!
What Being a Gold Star Teacher Means to You: It means more than I can say. It’s an honor that is truly humbling.
