The Thing You Like Most About Teaching: Working with kids every day! I like the variety in my job–no two days are ever the same! Kids come to school with a unique perspective and I enjoy learning from them as much as I do teaching them.
The Thing You Find Most Challenging About Teaching: There is never enough time to get everything done! It can be challenging to meet the needs of all the different learners that come through my door each day.
Best Tip for New Teachers: You will never be wrong with you put kids first. Always do what is best for kids! But also don’t forget to fuel yourself, too. Take time to “Sharpen the Saw” by doing things outside of work that will rejuvenate you so you can be the best person for your family and your students.
Advice For Students: Never forget that you are a valued human being with great potential and purpose. Your teachers love you more than you realize. The adults in the building want what is best for you. Do not be afraid to reach out to them and ask for help.
What Being A Gold Star Teacher Means To You: Receiving the Gold Star Award for Outstanding Teaching has been a truly humbling experience. I am so grateful to work with amazing kids and staff every day!
