The Thing You Like Most About Teaching: I most enjoy seeing my students get excited about agriculture and make connections between the learning material and their own lives.
The Thing You Find Most challenging About Teaching: The most challenging part of teaching is always finding ways to reach those children who, for whatever reason, are not excited about the opportunities to learn.
Best Tip for New Teachers: Do not hesitate to show students that you care about them and their lives. Greet them with a smile, ask them about their interests, congratulate them on their successes, and encourage them always. You can change lives.
Best Tip for Career Teachers: Be flexible! If something isn’t working, change it. Do not be afraid to learn new skills and incorporate it into your curriculum.
Favorite Piece of Advice for Students: Teachers can only provide the best possible opportunities for you to learn. You have to take advantage of those opportunities and go with it.
What Being a Gold Star Teacher Means to You: This award is special to me because it is an acknowledgement by students and FFA members that I have made a difference in their lives.
